Description: |
Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Erie, Pennsylvania, on 2 June 1935. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #949, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during May of 1918 and retired in November of 1951 after 38 years of faithful service. The headlight and the stack have been covered, so this locomotive is not fired-up at the moment. Gary Mittner Collection. |
