PRR 784, H-9S, 1955
Here is an image of a photo by Edward Kaspriske that was taken in Camden, New Jersey, in 1955. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #784, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in Juniata as H-8B number "304" in May of 1911, rebuilt as an H-9S in August of 1917, renumbered as "5372" in 1918, renumbered "784" in 1921, and retired in October of 1958 after 47 years' service. Many thanks to Mr. Robert Hess for clarifying this locomotive's pedigree. Edward Kaspriske Collection.
