PRR East Altoona Ready Tracks, 1966
Waters. Here is an original telephoto view that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-February of 1966. Prominent here are the Pennsylvania Railroad's Locomotive Ready Tracks in East Altoona. Visible on the left is PRR engine #9797, an EF-15A built by GM-EMD in March of 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. Also visible are several other ALCo and GM-EMD locomotives idiling-away in front of Juniata's 17th Street Bridge. Partially visible at the far right are the East Altoona Roundhouse and the venerable Water Tower.
