Waters. Here is an original telephoto view that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-February of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6003, #6019, and #6000. All are EF-25A's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #6003 and # 6000 were built in February of 1965, while #6019 was built in March of 1965. They've rounded the Curve and are passing under four-track Signal Bridge #2418/7 on their way to East Altoona for another helper/pusher run up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and back. |
