The Sydney to Melbourne Main South features an undulating profile through a good portion of its |ath with grfdes up to 2.5% frequently encountered. This "up" (towards Sydney, eastbound in this case) container train is climbing a long stretch of 1.5% between Goondah and Bowning. Original English-influenced clearances on this line (particularly numerous stone road overpasses) limit trains to single-stack only. |
