Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, c. 1955. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Baldwin DR-6-2000, 2000-hp, at Pittsburgh, Pa." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5783, a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in November of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in November of 1964 after just 16 years of revenue service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-24).

PRR 5439, K-4S, c. 1956
Description:
Wood. Here is an image of a photo by Don Wood that was taken near Bay Head Junction, New Jersey, c. 1956. Wood's Caption: "Bay Head Jct. afforded many opportunities for shooting the unusual. Case in point: K-4's 5439 and 3750 flank passenger 'Shark' 5783." #5439 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1927 and retired in April of 1958. #3750 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" constructed in Juniata as number "3750" in March of 1920, renumbered "1737" in 1956, and presently on display as number "3750" at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. And #5783 is a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in November of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in November of 1964. William E. Burket Collection.

Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, on 13 October 1963. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5783 and #5572. Both were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. #5783 is a BP-20 constructed in November of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in November of 1964. #5572 is a BS-10A switcher built in January of 1950, rated at 1,000 horsepower, and retired in February of 1967.
