PRR "Make That Engine Move," Page 1, 1957
Description:
Here is page one of a five-page article entitled "Make That Engine Move: PRR Campaign To Improve Use Of Power." It was published originally in the July-August 1957 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 1. Top Photo, Implied Caption: "Earnings: $300 per hour (if it's moving)." Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9696 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9696 was constructed as an EH-15 in April of 1949, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and retired in December of 1963 after just 14 years of revenue service.
