Title:  BNSF 4992

BNSF 1456
Title:  BNSF 1456
Description:  BNSF 1456 nosing out of the service-and-top-off area... but shes attached to BNSF 1599 at her rear bumper where it looks like shell stay over the next week or so. Interesting... couldnt they get her properly house trained not to pee on the carpet? Or what other evil did she commit to be relegated to yard duty instead of roadwork? (Had noticed the same thing possibly happening up in Connell with another like unit wearing green and part of the local run group serving Connell from Tri-Cities).

BNSF 4991
Title:  BNSF 4991
Description:  BNSF 4991 the north end of a power double resting back in the corral behind the RIP track shed; and I have to admit, its nice not to be shooting in the rain after nearly four weeks of it, even if it is still stinking dark at 4:20PM.

BNSF 4737
Title:  BNSF 4737
Description:  BNSF 4737 nine-in-the-morning and youd think I could figure out how to get her positioned in the frame so everything looks level. Ill blame it on the permanent kink in my neck and cock-eyed head position Ive achieved as normal attempting to keep rain from pouring down the back of my collar.

Description:  BNSF 8231 top end of power group, nose-to-the-north, as the sky continues its odd color shift with deepening hues on the pumpkin livery, Im looking over my shoulder after the recent tornado hitting the next town to the north from us (Battleground, WA).

BNSF 1454
Title:  BNSF 1454
Description:  BNSF 1454 nearly invisible at the north end of the inspection pit shed - and far too much noise coming from whatever that super-string of power units chugging out of the reserve lanes - means a single blind snap (which Ill later regret not getting a better attempt - white cab letters, gray anchor wheel... dang, that was an interesting unit - I can only hope to find it again in the coming months).

BNSF 4394 - BNSF 4991 - BNSF 7950
Title:  BNSF 4394 - BNSF 4991 - BNSF 7950
Description:  BNSF 4394 - BNSF 4991 - BNSF 7950 as the rear three units in a power shuffle of size I can only guess at being back here near the inspection pit and southern entrance to the power corral... little did I know the magnitude of it until a few minutes later after shifting position as she pulls away from me.

BNSF 4394
Title:  BNSF 4394
Description:  BNSF 4394 hustling to the north (the photographer... the unit itself was sort of puttering... along with the rumble suggesting something big in the area below the hill) and a pause at the top of the hill above the service area, which means holding the camera after ones head, point, hope, and shoot... but swiveling to the right where most of the sound is coming from yields the next frame... (see UP 4706 in the Vancouver Service folder, since you probably have no clue what order these images were actually shot - especially since my upload is sequential... and Im sure folks cringe with my wordy descriptions having nothing to do with trains... but I feel the love just the same... then again, my therapist says I have difficulties discerning the difference between love and loath - some sort of nonsense about me not paying attention after the first couple letters appear, but I dont really remember... I guess I wasnt paying attention to him while he was yacking at me. Go figure.)

Title:  BNSF 5232
Description:  BNSF 5232 sitting all-by-her-lonesome and Im losing my light... nearly the middle of the day (11AM) and the rains are starting to pick up - but theres sounds from the north of the power corral that are too intriguing to ignore - and theyve left this unit and me behind.

CREX 1211
Title:  CREX 1211
Description:  CREX 1211 southern side of a power double left in the corral after the mass exodus and by now Im nearly doing the equivalent of the potty-dance as the rumble continues to move away from me to the north with unknown multitudes on the string dragging BNSF 4394 away from the holding pen.

UP 4706 - BNSF 7820 - BNSF 8263
Title:  UP 4706 - BNSF 7820 - BNSF 8263
Description:  UP 4706 - BNSF 7820 - BNSF 8263 leading a huge rumble out of the area... and warranting a bigger potty-dance type maneuver from the photographer trying to balance atop the guardrail after glancing up at camera screen post-shot... that power string has to be huge, because theres a giant section of track thats completely blocked by trees and buildings. To move, or not to move? The string is going slow, but is it worth possibly missing something? (And you people sitting at home think this shooting trains stuff is easy. The least you could do is jiggle your legs around for me to help imitate the excitement / indecision dance I was doing... for the lazy, just wiggle the mouse a little. Thanks. Itll add to your enjoyment of the images since the quality sort of sucks... remember, Im balanced, in the wind and rain, atop a guardrail post above blackberry vines that disappear down over the edge of a hill. For the full effect, see if you can get someone to sprinkle water on you while viewing - now youre getting the full effect!)

BNSF 2078
Title:  BNSF 2078
Description:  BNSF 2078 where modesty seems to be optional on New Years Eve and the general dress code seems to be, uh, somewhat "open" and airy. No need for wardrobe malfunctions around here, the gals just start out that way... less embarrassing, although Im not sure they were expecting the paparazzi to show up this early in the day.

BNSF 4393
Title:  BNSF 4393
Description:  BNSF 4393 monkey-in-the-middle of a power threesome beside the inspection shed after sunset (seriously)... and suggesting the world may be ending soon. Its a Dash-944CW pumpkin... and it has an orange A/C unit. The only thing saving us from doom is the oranges dont match, but the end has to be close, because its not war-bonnet silver or oops, where did that come from blue (or other color).

Description:  BNSF 4725 facing north with her group of three by the inspection pit waiting for duty (or sunrise) after sunset in Vancouver. (and if you think this image is angled poorly, you shouldve seen the original... razor wire hurricane fences dont make the best of tripods under somewhat blustery conditions with frozen fingers (wow - did I pack enough excuses into one sentence?))

BNSF 8122
Title:  BNSF 8122
Description:  BNSF 8122 sits beside the inspection shed... practically in the dark, but its amazing what digital cameras can do when you steady them on the razor-wire fence and allow the speeds to drop to obscenely slow, even on an appreciable zoom. This is after sunset and this threesome set of pictures are the last images of the day.

BNSF 2741
Title:  BNSF 2741
Description:  BNSF 2741 a few weeks from the first few we caught of her wearing the new livery, only a little more clear than when she was hiding under the inspection pit shed. Nose to the north just below the shed this time - and with continued rainy weather.

BNSF 2767
Title:  BNSF 2767
Description:  BNSF 2767 and this is all I could find for a half-hour or more of looking. What a difference a week makes in luck. At least with all this heavy rain, even RP decides if the nutcase wants to get soaked at this time of night, let him - and I can shoot the whole three local units available in my own sweet time... except for the cold... and the rain... and the wind. Sometimes you have to respect your adversarys smart tactical moves - like staying out of the weather. (Terrible we have to have an adversarial relationship in the first place - Im willing to live-and-let-live. Just get a bit antsy about hearing from the better-half, "You know, your rap sheet is a mile long, even if it _is_ all legal observing... theyre still calling your license in every time." So how about it, Mr Buffett? Can I finally have a press-pass? Make me an honest man? Just an offer.

BNSF 6945 & BNSF 9236 - BNSF 6950
Title:  BNSF 6945 & BNSF 9236 - BNSF 6950
Description:  BNSF 6945 & BNSF 9236 - BNSF 6950 in the inspection and power-waiting lanes under stormy, dark, wet skies... and no battery power remaining as I release the shutter one last time after waiting several minutes to get the power in the battery high enough for this last umph before giving up... in a tribute to "Life before the 30x zoom lens pocket snappers." It would seem Im showing up to church early this Sunday - and remembering to put that extra battery pack in my pocket next time.

Description:  BNSF 8053 - BNSF 9236 - BNSF 6950 triple play in the sandbox near the tank-top-off stop at the north end of the service area of Vancouver Center under rainy winter skies.

CSX 648 - BNSF 3884 - BNSF 4649 - CSX 597 - BNSF 5094
Title:  CSX 648 - BNSF 3884 - BNSF 4649 - CSX 597 - BNSF 5094
Description:  CSX 648 - BNSF 3884 - BNSF 4649#- CSX 597 - BNSF 5094(? In the distance and beyond sensor accuracy in the low evening light) string of power in the waiting area in the rain - with a dead battery that wont even accept a minor pulse to the soom before giving up the ghost. So I get to stand in the rain, waiting for enough balance in a discharged battery to at least activate the camera and snap a single picture. ((BNSF 3884 power ID thanks to George Zhang!))

BNSF 4112
Title:  BNSF 4112
Description:  BNSF 4112 in heavy rain waiting for call-to-duty... with the front hatch open. Id presume thats a good indication its time to hang a new rear-view mirror pine-tree deodorizer. Just a suggestion.

BNSF 4302
Title:  BNSF 4302
Description:  BNSF 4302 on southern lead of a long power string in heavy rain; in fact, raining so hard, I never even noticed at the time: that A/C paint job almost completely matches the rest of the livery. Its not rain, its the end of the world. Its the flood. Its... time to get out of the rain, the brain has absorbed enough excess water to buffer clear thought.
